First City congratulates Chontell Buchanan on achieving her Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI) this summer.

Since joining the company as a graduate in February 2010 Chontell has spent more than two years gaining valuable work experience. Constant reviews, log book diaries and close monitoring means that she has been successful in demonstrating the professional competence required in all specified areas, passing first time with flying colours! .

The detailed feedback report on her Practical Experience Statement said that Chontell: “displayed a wide range of work across development control, policy, and research.”

Throughout the process Chontell has been working alongside Planning Consultant Graham Fergus who has been acting as her mentor. “Graham’s extensive experience in planning and development, and his ability to involve Chontell in a variety of projects has been very beneficial,” says Christopher Bywater, Managing Director. “At First City we have been able to provide the working environment required for Chontell to complete her professional qualification. This has been a valuable graduate training opportunity and I look forward to seeing her take a more leading role on the team.”
