Burton Upon Trent- Land off Tutbury Road– Consultation Event

Burton Upon Trent could benefit from a range of new community facilities as part of a development scheme being proposed by Staffordshire County Council.

The Council has commissioned Planning Consultants, First City Limited to lead a public consultation event for the development proposals on land situated off Tutbury Road, Outwoods, Burton Upon Trent.

The aim, if the development is approved, is to provide facilities for people of all ages. This will include new family homes, accommodation for first time buyers, affordable homes for local people and proposed care uses.

The scheme will include recreation and leisure facilities including children’s play areas incorporated into a new park and local centre uses possibly including a neighbourhood shop, medical centre and a public house.

The development will also include the provision of around 500 new homes offering a mix of types and sizes including much needed affordable housing with priority given to Burton Upon Trent residents.

The development will also include significant tree belt planting along the boundaries of the site to encourage wildlife to the area and significant highways infrastructure improvements including the Rolleston Road/ Harehedge Lane junction together with new off-street car parking coupled with additional restrictions to alleviate congestion on Harehedge Lane.

A public consultation event will be held on Monday 15th July 2013 from 4pm – 8pm at Outwoods Primary School, Harehedge Lane, Burton Upon Trent, DE13 0AS to give residents the opportunity to view the plans for the development and to have their say.

The consultation will run from 15th July to the 26th August 2013.
