Land off Upper Welland Road, Malvern, Worcestershire

Trine Developments Limited are proposing to develop land off Upper Welland Road and Assart’s Lane, Malvern with a Community Orchard and 23 new build homes comprising 2 bed bungalows, 3 and 4 houses, including some 2 bed apartments.

A key element of this exciting development is the concept of the Community Orchard. This is something that will set this development apart but it is not only a benefit to the new homes as it is open to all in the locality. It will provide a community focus as it will encourage all ages to be involved in the creation and on going stewardship of the orchard and its produce.

40% of the housing will be affordable to meet local housing needs whether these are first time buyers or those actively considering scaling down from larger properties.

The development will be of a high quality design and create a positive sense of place respecting the key features of the site and distinct character of its surroundings, including views to and from the Malvern Hills and the Conservation Area.

The elevations of the homes have been designed to exhibit a strong degree of symmetry and legibility and a pleasant visual aspect across the development.

The proposal seeks to achieve an appropriate balance between hard and soft landscaped areas. In particular through the proposed community orchard to be provided by the developer in place of normal public open space.

We hope to submit a planning application during November after which time the District Council of Malvern will run its own consultation on the proposals.
